Fine. Worth the money, but some quality issues. Review by dennis

I've been shooting the Avalon Tec One Recurve Sight for 10 months and it performed well, aside from two problems.

Problem 1: The fine elevation adjustment became sticky and eventually broke. The ball bearing that provides the click wore a groove in its seat and caused corrosion. I had to remove the ball and spring mechanism so that the fine elevation adjustment would still work, even if it no longer clicked.

Problem 2: The mounting bracket damaged the anodized finish on my aluminum riser. After having it on for 10 months, when I took it off to put on a different riser, there were four black, corroded looking patches where the pressure on the mounting bracket wore the finish away on my riser. When you mount this bracket, I recommend putting a layer of thick tape or teflon sheeting between the mounting bracket and the riser.

I had the Tec One on my 32# 70" Mybo Wave + SF Axiom limbs, and there was the occasional rattle from the windage block, but it didn't move once I set it. All in all, worth the $80, but you'll definitely outgrow it.

Great intermediate sight Review by Jaz R.

I got this sight a few months ago when my old decut one broke. I have the bright orange and love it! The micro adjustments are just like the more expensive sights. I haven't had any problems with the screws or things coming loose. Overall this sight is great for someone like me who needs a step up from the beginner sights but can't spend 300 dollars on something advanced.

Poor build quality Review by Kent

Both my daughter and I upgraded our sights from our starter Cartel K sight with a Decut aperture. I got my daughter a Shibuya Ultima II RC as she is going the competitive route and I decided to go with the Avalon Tec One as I shoot recreationally.

The sight looks nice; however, once I started using it I noted some quality/build issues.

The aperture block connects to the windage adjustment piece using a thumbscrew mechanism. I noticed there was a slight gap this connection area. The aperture block had a bit of movement. I read on another forum where one owner put a thin strip of rubber in that area to prevent the aperture block from jiggling. Since there is a slight give, each shot results in an unwanted vibration and rattle.

In the first couple days of using the sight, the number insert for the top vertical micro adjustment dial came out. This would be the same insert you see in the pictures on the windage micro adjustment dial. When it was in, I noted the number position for the top and bottom micro adjustment dials did not align with each other.

The scale markings on each side of the vertical adjustment are not in line with each other. It is slightly off. So, if you were to set the scale at 4 on one side, then look at the other side, I would expect the marker to be 4, but it wasn't.

The windage adjustment has an etched in scale; however, I noted the physical limitation of the windage adjustment travel would never the extreme 1 and 5 positions. I think the windage block would only be able to travel through three of the scale markings.

Lastly, the micro adjustment dials did not evenly click when going through a full rotation in one direction. When turning in the opposite direction the dial did not feel/hear the ciicks and the turn was tight.

Perhaps others may not be this critical. I am giving up on this sight and spending the extra funds to buy a Shibuya Ultima II RC.

NOT THAT BAD Review by Joe Joe

I have had these on my daughters recurves for the last 3 years. You must use a removable thread locker to keep the set screws in place. This will prevent issues and your kids can work on form. The movements are fine and preferred over the older K-Sight styles most parents buy and regret. No its not a lifetime product, but it is perfect for the money spent.

Great little sight Review by Mr Kim

This is an ideal sight for youth starting out in JOAD. This sight has the better parts of the expensive sights. Movements are not quite as clean as the $300.00 sights, but for $60.00 one can overlook this really easily.

Worth it every penny Review by Stonesetter

Overall a very fine sight. A fair step up over competitors sights. The micro adjustment is fine and even the clicks are pronounced one way but they seem to be less the other way. Couldnt really justify a 300 dollar sight given how rough I am on gear.
This was a Christmas present from my wife and frankly would make an excellent stocking stuffer for archers young and old.
Havent shot it yet however cant see it developing any major issues given the way it is built.

Good but you need to lock the screws Review by Mike

The sight is stable and does not shake loose during shooting, irrespective of the number of rounds you practise. The micro-adjustment options are a good feature that is usually seen on higher end sights. I did have an issue with the tiny screws that hold the system together coming loose and I, in fact, lost a screw that fell out on day two of using the sight. Since then I have ensured to lock all screws that do not require adjustment with an adhesive. Once this is done you should be good to go. Overall you get more that what you can expect for sights provided by other companies in a similar price range.

Good Sight Review by MrFreeze

Fit and finish are excellent. No rattles. Stays put. Not heavy. No complaints so far about this sight. Several other folks we shoot with have jumped on the band wagon and are happy too. Best sight for the money right now. If you cannot commit to a high dollar sight, need something for your JOAD kid, or new shooter, this is the one.

High-end features for a low to mid-range price Review by Zach Marana

This sight offers most if not all the features of a high end sight for an affordable price. It is made of excellent quality and has never rattled or come lose during shooting sessions. Highly recommend.

Great Quality Sight Review by Taufiq

I've been using this sight for a few months now. My bow is #40 OTF and it never rattle loose during shooting. It also has a nice click for the micro adjustment. The only downside would be you cannot move the sight extension really close to the bow compared to other sight.

Since my criteria for a good sight is not become loose while shooting and have a nice microadjustment, I don't feel needing to replace this sight for a long time.
