Can not use as designed Review by Allan

Bought this to string a Samick Journey w/ 35 lb limbs. The bottom cap fits securely and holds the string in the groove. However the top cap pulls down over the tip so far that it covers the groove making it impossible to fit the string in the groove. In order to use took off the top cap and tied a large loop in the top to slide over the upper limb. Works that way!

At first i was not sure about using the stringer as the top cup does not go on very far to the limb tip. I was sure it was going to come off and let the bow belt me in the face, but after a few times using it i am more at ease.

Great bow stringer, easy to use and my son likes more than the one that they use for the Olympic archery in school program.

Failed Review by Steve

I've used this stringer for less than a year and until now have been satisfied. Yesterday, however, the upper cap slipped off the nock just as I was about to set the loop. When this happens, the energy in the upper limb flexes it violently upwards. The lower limb still being held by the stringer adds a hefty surge spinning the bow the same direction as the upper limb is going pivoting around your hand. The combined forces could seriously injure a body. Fortunately, I never lean over the stringer when I'm pulling on it, so I only received a glancing blow from the edge of the upper limb - but this still required stitches in the ER. I examined the stringer's upper cap and the rubber seemed to have lost its elasticity - the more I pulled the more elongated it got sliding off the nock. I will try a friction block design for the replacement.

Great stringer. Each end fits snug over tip- easy strings/destrings bow.

Particularly Good for Heavier Bows Review by Neil Getz

Good stringer. The larger cup fits over the lower limb tip and holds the lower loop on. The smaller cup fits over the upper limb tip leaving sufficient room to slide the top loop off its groove and down onto the limb.

For heavier bows ( > 40#) this stringer works much better than the stringers that rely on friction. By attaching at both limb tips (rather than at the lower limb tip and part way down the upper limb) you get much better leverage for flexing the bow.

Note: The LAS description is mistaken. The limb tip cups are a slightly flexible plastic.
