Great value for a beginner/intermediate ILF riser Review by Alex
Quality

When I went to Lancaster to hold risers, the Fantom immediately came to my attention. It had been on my short list since I had started my bow research, but it felt great in the hand. Solid with great balance. Once it had been paired with some Samick Privilege limbs, I had seen what I needed to see. This riser provides a great starting point for anybody eager to get an ILF riser that can grow with them and is economical enough to encourage the jump from wood bows like the Sage/Journey (other great beginner bows; don't get me wrong). I think it's unmatched for its price point.

I just bought it and ive been using it a couple of weeks and the result is very impressive. My coach liked my new riser and thought it was pre owned when i told him about the price. My money is well spent on this riser.

I love this riser. As soon as I held it I knew this was going to be a great addition for my new bow. The grip is super comfortable and the riser is fairly light and solid. The shiny finish gives it an awesome look.

Good after tweak. Review by shuumai

I almost returned my particular Fantom riser at first. After a simple tweak I decided to keep it. The main issue was the range of tiller/weight adjustment. I found that the bolts would only turn about 1.5 turns before the limbs would bind, making them difficult to install or remove. (To be fair, 1.5 turns is enough to adjust tiller, but not enough to change the draw weight much.) After shimming the limb alignment brackets by adding some thin plastic under each one, the limit increased to 4 turns. That was enough to vary the draw weight of my 34# Axiom+ limbs from about 34# to about 37# with zero tiller, which is almost 9%.

Also, one of the tiller bolts almost felt like it was cross-threaded at first. After carefully working it a few times it smoothed out. (Maybe paint got on the threads?)

Overall, especially for the price, the Fantom has plenty of options, and is much better than my first riser. The titanium silver finish looks really nice. The riser seems to be die-cast using vacuum forming to reduce imperfections. Some molding imperfections show up on the insides of the "cut-outs" but they're minor. I would recommend the Fantom unless you're expecting and willing to pay for 100% perfection out of the box.

this is a good beginner, intermediate Olympic style recurve bow. I especially like the ability to adjust tiller, weight, and string alignment that most other fixed type beginner bows don't offer

Very Nice inexpensive piece Review by Boomta

I just started shooting about 2 months ago and with about 4 months of research before, this was the style and bow I decided on. I paired this riser with some axiom plus limbs to create a 70 inch bow at 20#. This is a very well built riser for the money. Set up was easy, all of the adjustment work well. The hardware is quite nice for a riser at this price. The finish is the only weak point I can see. And the Fantom always seems to get good reviews. Thanks to all the help from the people at Lancaster. And one more thing if you are just starting out buy Anthony Cameras book Shooting the Stickbow it is worth more pennys than you will pay.

I've had this riser for almost a year and LOVE it! No better value for the price in my opinion, it isn't too heavy and has held up well through all the abuse I have put it through. I can't imagine shooting anything else!

a good beginner, intermediate bow Review by Paul V.

As advertised, this is a good beginner, intermediate Olympic style recurve bow. I especially like the ability to adjust tiller, weight, and string alignment that most other fixed type beginner bows don't offer. The style of the bow is nice and so is the painting of the bow. The grip is ok, but unfortunately there are no interchangable grips with this model according to lancaster. I waited six months to recieve this bow and have sinced used it for two months. So far, no real problems have occured except that the string alignment hold down screws come lose every once in a while and need to be retightened. As stated earlier, a good beginner-intermediate bow. Certainly far better than the wooden Samick Polaris type bow that I used for years. JMO

Full Featured, Low Cost Review by Patrick SW

This is my first riser and I'm quite satisfied with my choice. It has all the most important features of higher priced ILF risers but at an affordable cost. The grip is comfortable and limb pockets seem to work smoothly. However I'm concerned about the longevity of it, I've had this for ~6-8 weeks and I'm starting to notice significant wear on the threads used for my plunger and a number of scratches developing on the finish (though I'm not particularly concerned about aesthetics, it's important for some).

This is my first olympic recurve bow, so I was not exactly sure what to expect. Wow, is it fun to shoot. It is set up with 40# Samick wood/carbon limbs and a Spigarelli plunger. Thus far, the combination has improved my accuracy considerably. I also have found that overall arrow speed and target penetration has increased considerably over my wood recurve with 45# limbs. Go figure. I love this bow.

I did a lot of research before deciding on the Fantom riser my first. IMO it is a terrific value for the price ... well built, good finish, atraight, feels good in the hand, and fully adjustable, with many of the features you would find on +$200 risers. I recommend this riser for anyone starting competitive target shooting.

This riser is fantastic for those seeking to improve their archery skills. The price is very reasonable, and the value is definitely evident once you use the bow. However, the riser has very minor marks on the sides, but are very hard to see. All in all, a very nice and effective bow.

I LOVE mine ! Review by Donald Nance

This is without doubt one of the all time best buys in archery. The only reaqson I did not give it 5 stars is because of some VERY MINOR machining marks that you would never notice if you didn't know what to look for.
The handle is very decent, not ergo but you won't find that in an intermediate riser...the adjustment capability is second to none. It is arrow straight and very stable overall.
Mine is also silver...this riser is worth much more than its price would suggest. Cartel is doing good by teaming up with Bow Korea.
The clicker requires a 4mm screw, in case you are wondering :)

Based on the price I wasn't expecting much but was very surprised when I opened it up and put it together(Got the silver). Great overall riser, some very small imperfections but for the price the quality of it is top notch. I purchased a set of SAMICK 42/44lb Carbon/Wood Limbs, silver/black for it (Medium) making bow a 68". Was a perfect fit, love the overall feel of it. Power and accuracy is just great. Highly recommend for anyone on a budget that once to get into this style of Recurves.
