- good inexpensive bow Review by uncle bucky
Value Quality Price
Notice I didn't say cheap bow, I said inexpensive. I hunt with a bear Montana but picked up the Cartel as my daily shooter at 30lbs due to a twice broken neck which doesn't allow me to shoot my heavy bow daily. The bow shoots nicely, with a bit of hand shock. The bow doesn't seem to have any flaws. The limbs are wider than the Montana, the tips are a bit wide and heavy. The finish is no where near the quality of the Montana. That being said I would not hesitate at all using this bow on whitetails up to 20 yards. I also wish my Montana was 68 inches like the cartel not 64 inches that it is.
I should mention that you should pay attention to what string comes with the bow. Our bow came with two. One string gave a 8 inch brace height and it shot ok with it. The other string gave a 7 inch brace height and the bow was crap. Invest in a good Flemish string, start at 8 inch brace height and experiment.
