Great Value for the money. Review by Mike

This is not only a good value for the money... it is a very good bow period ! After a 12 year lay off I'm just getting back into archery and my collection of 45, 50, 55 lb 1970s Kodiak Hunters and 50 lb Grizzly were a bit much with my 29.6 draw length. So I have ordered a 40 lb Bear 59 Kodiak... but this will take months to come in... So in the meantime I wanted a good quality bow that would not break the bank that I could practice with and work on my form... The new Galaxy Sage fits that bill ... and more ! This bow shoot amazing well... Even at 35 lb(38 for me) is packs a punch. I'm shooting 500 spine arrows with 125 g points. THe bow is very quiet... I did put a better quality string and silencers on it... No hand shock. The bow is light and feels good in my hand. Very smooth shooting bow. Quality seems decent for the price. It is a good looking bow...especially now that they got rid of those protruding mounting screws for the limbs. I heard someone call the Sage the VW bug of bows... and maybe it is... but for the money you get a bow that is the real deal !

I have just gotten back in to archery after being away from it for about 12 years... I had previously shot Bear Kodiak Hunters from the 1970s.. I love Bear Bows ! However I found with my 29.6 inch draw length my 45 lb Kodiak was a little much for slinging arrows. Therefore I have on order a 59 Bear Kodiak at 40 lbs... However it will be several months before that bow is in... So I needed a good bow to work on form and practice... but did not want to break the bank as the 59 kodiak is pricey. After doing some research I kept hearing about this Samick Sage bow... Despite the fact that is was dirt cheap it kept getting excellent reviews. So when I learned LAS was now carrying a new Galaxy version of it I decided to check it out. I was immediately impressed with the bow. This new Sage has flush mounted limbs... no more externally protruding screws .
t is a rather handsome bow. Feels good in the hand... The grip is very comfortable. I got 35 lb limbs to start... with my draw length that is about 38 lbs... The bows slings arrows like a dream... even with the low draw weight it packs a bunch ! No stacking or hand shock... Relatively quiet bow (although I have silencers put on it) Again it is no Bear kodiak but is a fraction of the price. I did switch the string out... got a better quality flemish fast flight string for $12.00 . My only fear with this bow is that I'm worried I may like shooting it more than my new Kodiak.
