Very Nice Bow Review by Bullsdye

I've shot compounds for years. I have tried long bows and recurves many times but never enjoyed it much. They always just felt uncomfortable to shoot. I was at the range a month ago waiting on them to finish working on my bow. The sales guy got me to shoot this bow and I now own it. I love it. I shoot about 50 a 75 arrows a night. I'm hooked.

Traditional for the Not So Traditional Review by NDT

The Hoyt Dorado is zippy, acceptably smooth, solid shooting recurve at a fairly affordable price (particularly when you go price a custom or semi-custom TD recurve!) The alum riser may not be every traditional archer's cup of tea, but there is no question it fits well in the hand and has just enough heft to be stable at full draw. The riser is drilled/tapped for a cushion plunger or adjustable rest plate, or can be shot equally well off the shelf. I have mine set up with a T-300 rest so I can shoot both feathers and vanes equally well. Another plus is it's a production bow and Hoyt is here to stay, so availability, service, and extra limb set availability should not be a worry. No need to wait a a year or more for delivery like with most customs, you can find your Dorado in stock at a number of archery outfits (including Lancaster!), even your local Hoyt dealer who only carries compounds can get one in a couple weeks. Speaking of limbs, I don't know why Hoyt doesn't make the riser to fit ILF limbs (unmodified, only Dorado limbs fit a Dorado riser), I suppose it's if you want a different draw weight set of limbs, you have to buy them through a Hoyt dealer. I've read the ILF limbs can be modified to fit the Dorado riser, but like most archers, I'm not interested in messing around with my bow. In summation, the Dorado is a very good TD recurve at a decent price, backed by a solid company with a great customer service rep. You can't go wrong.

Great Bow Review by Eric McCoy

Purchased this bow a week ago because my Samick cracked... HUGE UPGRADE! This bow is extremely smooth. Still getting use to it but I wish I wouldn't have wasted my money with a cheapo Samick Sage. I'm enjoying this bow every day.
