Hard to Believe Review by Thomas Barefoot

I was once competitive in archery in the early 1980's, and have recently begun shooting again. I am comparing these limbs to my venerable 1988 Hoyt Carbon Plus limbs. Both are long (70"), drawn to nearly 32" draw on a Gold Medalist TD4+ riser. The old Hoyt's are #38 while the new Quattro limbs are #36. (Yes, I am getting old and need lighter weight limbs)

The first thing I noticed is how different they feel. The old limbs drew gradually to their #47 at my draw. The Quattros feel as is they start out "heavier" from brace, but stack less at the end of the draw, which makes coming through the clicker very easy. I also have noticed that at only #45 weight at my draw, the Quattros tune almost identically with my arrows (31" ACE 470 and 2115). While I don't have a chronograph, this would tend to indicate the Quattro limbs are delivering as much energy as the old limbs at a full two pounds less draw weight. In addition, the limb tips are more stable than any limbs I have ever seen, due to the new construction unique to Quattro limbs. How sweet it is!

You can't go wrong with these. Made in the USA, sweet shooting and top quality finish.

Top Gun Review by TBarefoot

I was once competitive in archery back in the early '80's, and have recently begun shooting again. I got a great price on these (thank you, LAS!), and compared to my old Hoyt Carbon Plus limbs from 1988, these Quattro limbs are astounding. They are the best limbs I've ever used.

Please understand, in 1988, my (now) old Carbon Plus limbs were at the top of the food chain: foam cores AND carbon fiber, smooth and fast. They still are. However, the Quattro limbs exceed them in any category I can compare: They are smoother, faster and less affected by temperature changes. They are also smoother through the clicker. How, you might ask? What I've noticed is that these limbs feel (to me) that they get into their draw weight more quickly from the brace to about halfway through the draw, then gain less weight in the latter half of the draw to the clicker.

One interesting fact I've noticed is that while my old limbs were #47 pounds at my draw and these new Quattros are #45, my arrows (ACE 470) are tuning almost exactly the same. Although I don't have the correct equipment to test this scientifically, it almost certainly means they are as fast as a set of limbs two pounds heavier "back in the day." Incredible.
