- Nice light (mass) weight riser for students (adult or kids) Review by Jeff Saunders
Quality Price Value
I have 2 Rolan risers (so far): 1 in 23" and 1 in 25".
These are great for students when paired with light draw limbs. I use 10# limbs which make 12# on the short riser. I also have some 18/20 limbs that I use for more advanced students.
The mass weight of the 23" is 698g (1.54 lbs), and the 25" is 768g (1.69 lbs). I have first graders who can hold the long riser (66" bow) with no problem.
Compared to wooden risers of the same length, these have a much longer sight window, so they allow adult shooters to aim for shorter distances without running into the top of the window.
My one beef with these is that there is a fair bit of sharp mold flashing along the mold seams, so that needs to be adzed off with a razor blade before use, but that is a minor inconvenience for what is otherwise a great riser.
