- Excellent vise, makes set up easy Review by Mike D.

DETAILED COMPARISON: I have been setting up bows for 20 yrs now. My first vise was an Apple economy vise, which does a good job holding a bow and allows adjustability and leveling with some effort and tweaking. Recently, I bought an OMP Versa Cradle (see my review). This is a well-made, great and stable vise with easy adjustability and great range of positions. It also locks solidly, but can take some time to get the bow locked perfectly level in multiple axes for initial setup. This is why I purchased the RAM Micro Adjust vice: 1) It is very well-made and stable. 2) The clamp mechanism is wide enough to fully clamp both limbs of the newer wide limb bows (i.e. Mathews Halon). 3) It grips the limbs very well without marring the finish. 4) It sits low to the bench making it more stable and less prone to torque than other vises with longer arms. 5) It has a great range of position adjustability. 6) MOST IMPORTANTLY, once the bow is mounted and roughly adjusted for level, you lock it down and use the micro adjust knobs to easily, quickly, and accurately level the bow in each axis (one knob for each). The vise is then solid and allows easy initial set up of a perfectly and quickly leveled bow. I still use all 3 vises, but find this the most useful. It is as stable (or more so) than the Apple; is as easy to use and has as great a range as the OMP; and is the easiest and quickest to level a bow in multiple axes - all in one vise. Good luck.

the best vice in the world. this vice is top quality, machined, fully micro adjustable. Super simple to tune a bow with. I just love it. would rate it higher if there was a higher scale. So many adjustments! love the bubble level!
