Two Broke in Two Months Review by Clint Smith

I loved this bow and was having a blast shooting it, but then it broke after just two weeks - one of the limbs completely buckled back toward me as I was making my next draw. Lancaster did a warranty replacement for me nice and quick, and I was back to shooting. After two weeks with the new bow, the fiberglass on the belly of one of the limbs cracked and was pulling away from the limb. On my warranty claim this time around, Lancaster was nice enough to agree to doing store credit toward a different, better bow instead of just another replacement of the sage.

Kudos to Lancaster for helping me out, but man am I disappointed in this bow! I watched the videos and read all the reviews about it, and I didn't hear any concerns about the quality or durability of it over time, but I got two bum units in a row.

Poundage for a new archer Review by Clint

For the brand new archer who is an adult man wondering what poundage to get... I am fairly strong, a formerly athletic guy, but a bit out of shape at this point. I’m 35 years old, 6’1” and 200lbs. I got a 45# thinking it would be nice and light weight for me to learn with. Now having it in person I can say that this is definitely the heaviest I would start with! Not super easy. I’m sure I’ll get better and stronger to pull a 55# plus one day, but that would probably be impossible to me right now.

I got one of these in a 55 pound. I must say it shoots great. I look forward to getting out in the woods to do some stump shooting this weekend.

Awesome bow! Review by Ray F

So glad I decided on this bow! Shoots great, especially with a fast flight string instead of the dacron string that comes with the bow. I've shot more expensive bows that don't shoot nearly as smooth and quiet. A fantastic bow at a fantastic price. Can't wait to hunt with it!

AWESOME! First Bow Review by Anthony Castillo

After watching countless videos and reviews I decided on a One Piece Recurve bow as my first bow, because of ease of use and simplicity. I saw this one and read the reviews and decided to make the purchase and must say that I am very pleased it's visually appealing and performs great for my first bow. Delivery was fast and staff was very helpful in informing on what kind of arrows and etc.. that i would need to start my Journey in [email protected]! I would highly recommend this bow.

Samick Sage one-piece actual draw weight Review by Steven Palubinski
Quality

Since my review of 28-AUG-16, I have tested the draw weight of my nominal 50# Samick Sage one-piece. The bow actually draws 58 lbs at a 28" draw length, not 50 lbs. This is fine with me. I only bought the 50# because neither the 55# or 60# models were available. All my other comments remain the same.

Draw test results:

DL DW
in. lbs
7.5 0
10.5 16
13.5 23
16.5 30
19.5 35
22.5 42
25.5 50
28.5 59
31.5 68

Classic Bow Review by Steven

This bow for me is very similar to Bear's Grizzly in regards to handling and smoothness of draw, and could well be at the start of a similar long career.
I was shooting a 64" AMO take-down bow prior to the Sage 1-piece and can say that the 1-piece stacks noticeably less at its 60" AMO. At my 30" draw length this is significant. I chose the 50# because the #55 was not available and I plan to hunt with this bow this year. Let's hope Samick comes out with a 60# ! This bow dresses nicely with a Bear rug, DynaFlight97 14 strand, 57" handmade string (Wild River Rustic), and whisker silencers.

Outstanding bow Review by Littlehand

This bow is not just a good value -it's a great bow. Unbelievably smooth out to my draw of 29" and it would go back to at least 30" easily. I can draw it past my ear with no stacking. With a fast flight Flemish my 50# is as fast as anything I own w/maybe the exception of my 60# stingray. This blows my 50# Grizzly out of the water and is what the Volcano should have been. 7 3/4 brace works perfect for me. Samick got the ratio of riser to limb perfect with this one. Accurate, light, pretty, fast, smooth, great in-the-hand feel. There is nothing wrong with this bow, everything right, and for the price it is an absolute steal. Wish they had the 55# in stock but the 50# is PLENTY fast enough. I have more bows than I can count and this is among the best.

GREAT VALUE Review by Christopher jones

Bought this bow for my wife for her birthday in the 30lb draw, and she loves it. Quieted right down with some whiskers and Velcro. Shelf is a nice radius and the wood grain is rich and dark. Riser section has a thinner grip but still comfortable, have the bow braced right around 8". No hand shock to speak of, shoots well, handles well, great bow.
