So much fun to shoot! Review by Ravuun

I got into archery when I was in middle school, but wasn't able to afford a nice recurve like the ones they had at school/summer camp until recently. I got the 30# bow and I adore it! It's not too heavy to carry around, and it definitely reminds me of shooting during my childhood. Also pretty powerful for a light draw weight, and seems super-accurate--my groupings looked pretty good on the first day of shooting! . One of the best purchases I've made in years!

I can't say enough about the quality, smoothness and accuracy of the Samick Red Stag bow. The Red stag is the BEST bow you can buy under $200.00 and rivals bows twice its price. I love the way this bow feels and shoots. What a bargain!

This went past all my expectations of a $149.00 bow. Very good craftsmanship! I have owned several custom bows, and this is up there with the top bows.
The shipping box has a lot to be desired. Mine was damaged, in several places, but the bow was fine. I would pay a little more for a stronger box. As my heart sank when I saw the box!

have had this bow about 3 weeks and love it!

now granted its not a $1k+ bow,
but it looks alot better than the price tag would lead you to believe,
and it shoots great!

with some silencers on it its silent and very little hand shock,
i am absolutely pleased with it!

going to take it out for late archery season,
and also some small game and aerial targets very soon :)

Can not be beat at this price point Review by Jim

Just setup and tuned my new Samick Red Stag one-piece recurve. Very impressed overall with the build quality and ascetics of this bow. The really impressive thing is I paid $149 for this bow. Lancaster Archery Supply had the bow on sale so I picked one up. My son shoots a Samick Sage and I have a Red Stag take-down recurve and we have been very pleased with both. I own several custom bows and while the Samicks are not custom level they are certainly a lot of bow for the money. I only have had a chance to shoot a few arrows so far with the rain this weekend but I am impressed with the bow so far. Its fast and really sticks Easton 2018 Legacy arrows hard. This should make a nice back yard shooter or hunting recurve.

Great bow, period. Review by Shane

I received this bow as a Father's Day present from my wife and kids. I wanted a new recurve, but nothing too expensive as I normally shoot longbows, and I didn't want an expensive bow gathering dust between sessions. I settled on this bow at 40 pounds for small game and deer duty (if I wanted).

First things first: the stock string works, and that's about it. I didn't expect anything else as most stock strings are junk and this bow was less than $200. I had a FF string delivered with the bow so I put on a calf hair rest, strung the bow, and went to work.

This bow shoots just as good as any recurve I have ever shot. The draw is smooth, the grip fills the hand, and it is light and nimble. Many people say these are good bows for the money. They are good bows, period. You won't get fancy woods and high gloss finishes, but you will get a solid and consistent bow capable of giving you repeatable accuracy.

If you want a workhorse bow you can depend on, the Red Stag is it. Add the price and it is an even better choice.

You will not find a better bow for the money. This bow shoots as fast as my custom at the same A.M.O. and draw weight. The draw is not as smooth as my custom, but, costs a lot less. I did not put the bow on a scale, but, seems to pull heavy. Great bow, and I am not afraid to use it for hunting and beat it up in the woods. I am also at ease to camo the boring black fiberglass, already done! You won't be disappointed.

satisfied! Review by Scott Mirabile

I haven't shot a bow and arrow since I was in the Boy Scouts (about 15 years). But I decided to give it a try again and got this bow (and some other accessories). Customer support answered all my questions promptly, it was delivered MUCH faster than I expected, and it's beautiful to look at and hold. I readily admit that I'm new to shooting so keep that in mind, but this bow was so easy and fun to shoot, I am kicking myself for not getting back into this sooner. Some have complained that the bow is a bit noisy, but I am only shooting at hay bales, and they don't frighten easy... so I'm not too worried about the noise.

I'd recommend this to anyone (:

Great bow Review by Jason

I got my son one of those cheap Walmart kiddy compound bows about a month ago and found myself out there shooting it long after he got bored with it, and next thing you know I want to get into archery myself! After doing some research, I had decided to go with traditional. I heard good things about the Samick Sage, but after coming into Lancaster Archery's store and looking around a bit, I came across this Samick Red Stag 60" 30 pounder. It was only $30 more than the Sage, but it felt so much better. After taking 3 shots with it in the store's range, I was sold. The guy who helped me hooked me up with 6 arrows that he fletched himself, plus a glove and a bag target, and I promptly came home and shot probably 100 times tonight. I know I am a newbie and it's early, but I could not be happier. The bow is so smooth, so well balanced in the hand, just wow. Beautiful work of art. I sense this will be a lifelong hobby that my son and I can enjoy together. If you are thinking about the Sage, I'd recommend you at least try the Red Stag out, at least to me it felt so much more smooth and refined. Thanks Lancaster Archery, I really appreciate your help.

I received this bow for Christmas this year. The picture doesn't describe how beautiful the bow is, the dark oak limbs are a wonderful contrast from the reddish handle. I would recommend learning how to shoot before buying it, it isn't for beginners. Also i recommend buying the leather recurve stringer.

I have been shooting my #30 for about two weeks. I am very pleased with the workmanship and feel of the bow. It is a very fast bow for the poundage I am using. Can’t beat it for the price. I had to wait a few weeks for the backorder, but well worth it.

Great Service Review by Jack

I purchased the Samick Red Stag I 60" Recurve Bow from Landcaster Archery, the first bow I received was a POS right out of the box, a lot of flaws in the wood work, delamination on the string tips and the limbs were twisted to boot! I tried to set this bow up but as soon as I let pressure off the bow stringer the string would would fly off the bow! Obviously a defective bow, so I called Landcaster archery and explaned the problem, the staff was courteous and sent me a new bow out right away! excellent service!! and the new bow is very nice. Thanks Lancaster I will be back!

I am not an experience archer, but this bow definitively is a good bow. After practicing during one year with other traditional recurve bow with not noticeable good results, I bought this bow and won a local small tournament. Just a little noisy that can be solved with string silencers.

I just recieved this bow and it shoots amazing. mine is a 50 pound cause i like a little more power. great bang for the buck. the only flaw i found with this is the string for it was a little short so it looked like it was half pulled all the time which is kinda scary but great after all.

After taking archery this year in high school, I really wanted my own recurve. After tons of research, I came across the Red Stag. I got it really soon after ordering, sooner than expected, which was awesome,(thank you Lancater Archery!). It looks amazing, and it shoots great! The only thing is that it's really noisy when shot, but some string silencers easily fix that. Great bow, and worth every penny. I highly recommend this bow to anyone, even if it's your first. I love it!

Thanks for all your help Lancaster Archery in fitting this awesome bow for me!

Excellent Traditional Bow Review by AE
Price
Value
Quality

I bought the Samick Red Stag about 2 weeks ago - it was an early x-mas present. The cost was not too bad considering the value of the materials for the bow. I am a qualifier of the Junior Olympic Archery Development program and have also worked as an archery instructor at a scout camp. I plan on using this bow for hunting in the near future. The bow I bought was 40 lbs. The pull is comfortable, the wooden finish is nice despite a few slight pock marks. The bow is very loud when you first start shooting it so i would suggest silencers and horse hair padding for the limbs, it will silence the bow almost 100% better. Traditional arrows are expensive for recurves, but they shoot nicely and are of good quality. I shoot gold tip traditioanl arrows, full length, and by week two I could hit a volleyball15-20 yards away out of mid air with no sights (instinctive). In all, it is a great bow and I would definently recommend it no matter what level archer you are. Thank you for all the help Lancaster Archery Staff!

I'm new to archery this year. I decided to go the "traditional" route and couldn't be more satisfied with this bow. The look and feel of this bow make me feel like I spent alot more money. Dale at Lancaster archery supply was a HUGE help. The few pointers he bestowed upon me in ten minutes on the range improved my shooting immensely.

I got this bow for christmas. Waited a while before i wrote a review just so I could get a feel for it before i judged it. Nice and quiet once you dialed in on the right brace height. Consistent shots. solid limbs and fits really nicely in the hand. I got the 60# bow, and my draw length is a little bit longer than 28" so i get a little more oomph out of it. Holding up really nicely. Definitely a good bow.

I love this bow. Being a woman, this bow is easy to shoot. It's light weight, easy to carry and easy to draw. I have a take down bow also, but much prefer this one piece. It's very nice looking too. I always get compliments on it's look. All in all, it's just a wonderful bow. I would definitely buy and recommend Samick bows.

I've been into recurves an longbows for three years now. The Bear Montana was my first longbow and the Samick one piece Redstag was my first recurve. I have 12 bows now and the samick redstag shoots as well or better then some of custom bows. Very smooth draw good speed an pretty quiet for a recurve. Lot of bow for the money.

This Red Stag shows very high quality. It looks like it costs two or three times more than the actual price. I shot this bow almost every day this year (January to August) without a single problem. I'm on my third string. 45lbs is so easy to draw. Compared to my compound, the Red Stag weighs nothing. I look forward to hunting with the Red Stag in October. Thank you.
