Extremely accurate and fast shooting bow GREAT BOW!!! Review by Hung

I was somewhat apprehensive about getting a Samick bow let alone a takedown recurve bow. I did a lot of research on the reviews and have spoken with numerous people who have or had dealings with the Samick brand bows. I did not at anytime hear a bad thing about them and all the people that I have spoken with loved them and is currently using them or would like to have one.

There were numerous comments but here are some of what was said, they liked the takedown due to storage or transport, the ease of use, smoothness, accuracy and the speed of the arrows was commented most. The Red Stag was highly regarded because of the 60 inch length and the overall build quality of the bow.

With currently using an older Bear Grizzly Longbow, I wanted something a little shorter for the woods. I went and shot numerous bows and was going to pull the trigger on the Bear Grizzly recurve until I spoke to others about the Samick Red Stag takedown. The Grizzly was a great shooter and great bow all around. I have nothing but great things to say about them. However the purchase priced of the Red Stag out the door from Lancaster Archery of $149.00 was really hard to beat.

I received the bow in just a few short days and WOW!!! Great, Great, Great bow. I could not rave or tell you how much I enjoy shooting this bow. I did get the 50 lb. draw. This bow was everything people said it was. I could not be more satisfied and happier with the decision to get the Samick Red Stag Takedown. I never ever write a review, but this is for all those like I was, who are on the fence about getting this bow. Hope this helps. Enjoy and happy huntings

Top quality bow for an unbelievable price. Review by David L Clark

I'm a 65 year old traditional archer. I started shooting at age 10 when my dad bought me my first store bought bow. It was a ben pearson 45# all fiberglass bow. That was the start of a life long love for archery. I received my order of a 50# Red Stag about a week ago. I was really surprised by the quality of this bow. It surpassed all my expectations. This bow will be my go to bow for hunting and 3D. I got the bow on sale but I would pay the full price anytime.

Got this to re-connect with barebow style shooting. The bow is very sexy, and, as someone else reviewed, "It shoots where you point it". Good value. I put a Flemish string on it. Much improvement over the supplied string.

Beautiful and Effective Review by Sol-leks

I have owned my Red Stag for a little over a year now. It is my first and only bow. I was taught on a Matthew's Genesis at my local shooting range and bought this on a whim at a trade show (it was left handed and those are harder to come by). The riser fits great in my hands and it always shoots smoothly. I have dragged this bow all over the woods, small game and deer hunting. I can tell you it's fast enough to get squirrels! I also do 3-D shooting with it with decent success. I have a Bear weather rest on it and homemade beaver balls. With the silencers, it's pretty quiet. I'm actually still shooting the string that came with it, though I have a flemish string on order (the ends of my string kept fraying and having to be re-served, so I put on some dampeners and that has helped a lot). I firmly believe this bow will always outshoot my own abilities. Any misfires are operator error, not the bow.

As a bonus, it is a gorgeous bow. I've gotten numerous comments on it at various events and ranges. I currently have 30# and 40# limbs, and am looking to move to 50# soon. I will NEVER part with this bow!

Good deal for the money Review by Ricco Staccone

Over the years I have had custom bows as well as the more popular name brands. I have never thought I got a good deal on any of them until now.For under $200.00 and what you get in return, you can't beat this bow. It draws smooth and with the addition of string silencers is whisper quiet. The medium grip is user friendly and the Bow delivers the arrow with authority. The fit and finish are not custom quality but is far from being second rate. Overall, you will be surprised at what $200.00 gets you with this bow. Combine this with super fast shipping from Lancaster and you have one satisfied customer.

This bow is excellent. The weight, the hold and the look are very nice. The bow looks like a piece of art. It feel a little stiff at first though but after a short time shooting from it the bow start feeling more natural in the hold and shooting.

With $199.98, this is probably the best quality TD bow you can get. It is more beautiful than the picture shown. It is a piece of art.
It shoots very fast. Its performance is a big jump from my PSE Snake recurve bow. I have silencer on bow string so it is relatively quiet. Josh offered outstanding customer service to help me out on issues. I use Lancaster Archery as my main bow supply store.

Great Bow Review by Al

I stopped shooting archery about 40 years ago. Then my neighbors bought a used recurve bow, I held it and realized I had to start again. I bought the Samick Red Stag recurve bow and really enjoy shooting it. The bow looks great; I’ve had a lot of experienced archers at the range comment on the looks. It shoots as well as I can and I’m very pleased with the price. I’m now thinking about purchasing a Samick Red Stag long bow.

super value Review by northern lights

I have the redstag with two sets of limbs 35# an 40# I<m amazed at the speed I get with the 35# limbs an the 40# sreamers. Had a couple of ilf rigs excel pinnicle with black max limbs. but like the riser of the redstag better But Will admit the ilf rigs were quieter. But the speed is about the same. The redstag has good mass weight without being to heavy very stable in the hand. After trying out about a dozen recurve the redstag is the one I<m going to keep . Just don,t see the need for another bow. PUt a high quality string on it an you will love it.

Good for use hunting and for price Review by Twin

My third bow is the Redstag nice feeling to handle, smooth, has enough energy and kinetic energy with X-Wawe carbon arrows 200. Penetration is surprized me when I shot across a metal bucket filled sand. The outlook of bow is good, no spare decoration or form design. Not the designg and/or decoration of riser is important. The only important thing is the function. Very quick, fast. great for rabbit or deer. My firs bow is a PSE Coyote 55#, that is heaviest three times than Redstag. But professional bow, I know we must to pay the name of brand. My second bow is also Samick, that is SHB ( it means :Samick Hunter Bow ) . This is a 45# one-piece wood bow, very light, and very good, storages high energy, that is surprizing. I love the SHB and Red Stag from Samick. Other bow types no needs me, I'm not interested in because I found the bests for me. I tried USD 900- 1200 bows, and they did not gives me more feelings and no better and no fastest at the shooting. Just pay and pay for the brand. The expensive bows are sensitive for the rain or cold, snow, etc. A real good bow what is under using day by day in the forest or prairie, must to reconsider the effects of the Nature. And not the outlook the important. A bow must to be a bow, and not be as a Cadillac or Rolex watch. Five stars.

Excellent Bow Review by Bob Rice

It shoots really well - fast and smooth. Fit and finish is also good. Some rough spots on the string grooves. I sanded them down and applied poly. Then no problem. Excellent bow for the money. This is really the only bow one will need. It is compact for traveling and one can buy different weight limbs.

Great bow but deceiving Review by Vinny

Just bought this bow and it didnt have a red riser like I expected it to be in the picture. One of the LAS techs told me that Samick now makes the risers brown so beware of that when you buy this bow. Besides that fact, the bow shoots very well and very smooth. Its worth the money. Woodwork of the riser isn't exactly the best the way the area above the shelf was cut and the way they laminated it but that's just aesthetics and does not affect the shot. Overall good bow just be cautious that you might not get the color it appears to be!

Excellent bow for the money Review by Bandman72

Good bow for the money. Fit and finish is good, but not perfect. Function of the bow is very good. Shoots as good as I can. It's a bit more difficult to pull than a longer bow of the same weight. Price versus value...5 stars!
