Second thoughts Review by MB

Earlier I wrote a review saying that this is a good sight... There was lots of noise in my bow even before that review, I just didn't think it's the sight/scope, as I paid good money for it and everything was super tight. So I was looking at the rest of my setup, and never considered the sight... mistake.

The 5.5" head isn't as sturdy as I had hoped it was. Slight pressure on the scope (in the 3rd axis direction), and it moves... a lot. The "sturdy" vertical rod bends an eight of an inch in a 5.5" span. There's clinging sound that comes out of the sight even though everything is super tight unless I use a dampener on it. Vibration is so bad, I have to check the scope before every shoot - sometimes it's loose, other times it isn't. The other day the scope exploded - the pin just flew off (it's a Sure Loc S2 scope, installed by a tech at a pro shop).

I can't believe this is Sure Loc. Very disappointed. Especially after shooting an Axcell AX3000 and a CBE Elite, both sights with comparable price (slightly cheaper actually). These are truly rock solid. I may have gotten a lemon, but still... I got slammed pretty hard after being so excited about my new $500 sight/scope set.

I wouldn't recommend Sure Loc any more period... Which doesn't mean they're bad. I just don't think they measure up to their competition when it comes to sights for high powered compound bows any more. They need to step up the game, or get out of it.

Great quality sight, poor exit quality control Review by MB

Review based on shooting this sight for about a month.

First time you see this, you'll love it. It looks amazing in the box. One can tell it's of high quality - the micro adjustments feel like "money" every time the dials are turned. I have never seen it misaligned, tho I take good care of it (it lives in the original foam padded box). The extension is feather light and super sturdy. The holes on it click into place, so as long as you remember what hole you use, it's always dead on. That was the good (and in my mind most important) stuff. There's also some bad...

The instructions for how to mount it or add a scope practically don't exist. So if you're new at this, good luck figuring out what you need and what you don't of the million parts that come with the sight or what order things go in (mounting bracket, screws, bolts, washers, bars...). Even the pro-shop guy who did this for me had a hart time and had to call a more senior guy to come help out. You can try the Sure Loc website, other websites, search for videos... there's NOTHING. To add to the confusion, the 2 sets of mounting screws (one if using the mounting bracket and one if not) wouldn't fit. The short ones are too short even if there's no bracket, and the long ones are too long with or without a bracket. So if you don't have a pro-shop near by to tell you this, you'd be trying to mount this thing on forever thinking you're doing something wrong as there's no way a $350 sight comes with wrong screws.

So yeah... if/when you're stuck installing this, go see your pro-shop. It'll cost you some dollars, but it'll save you some nerves... Well worth the money.

Good sight Review by Chris

This sight is good, very good adjustments etc. but I have learnt some lessons and would by something different next time.

If you shoot high pound bow (i shoot 58lbs) you only need the 400 model, this (550) is too much adjustment range. Also this is suited to someone who really looks after their gear, no bumps or leaving in the back of car etc. as it can get out of alignment if it is bumped.

i have used this sight for two years and it broke twice on me. it couldent stand the vibration my hoyt contender gave out on it. i think that if a sight is going to be $315 it should be able to stand some vibration.
