- Good sight for the price. Review by Greg White
Value Quality Price
As a beginner archer I was looking for something of good quality without the ridiculous price. I was looking for a sight I could grow with and not have to re-sell or get rid of as my equipment upgrades. This Sure-Loc sight does the trick.
My plan was to use it for indoor (20 yards) which does not require any adjustment once it is set. But this summer I have moved outdoor and have shot from 15 feet out to 80 yards. The micro-adjustability is great when you are indoor and needing fine tuning. However, once you are outdoor and shooting a NFAA Field Shoot it can take a while to adjust from 20 yards to 80 and back. There are a lot of clicks to get it from stem to stern. I put a dab of grease on the treaded area and in the ball clicker to smooth things out and speed things up.
The "axis" adjustment are easy and true once you get them set. I have not had any of that stuff come out of it's set position. The knob to secure the elevation is a bit of a pain. That big black knob on the side is also what is used to keep the scope in place. If that knob is lose the scope moves out of position ever so slightly. And the more shots you take the more it backs out. In order to combat that "unscrewing" I have to make sure it is tight every or every other shot. It is not a big deal until I forget and throw an arrow way off at 80 yards.
My only real complaint is with the knob that secures the rail to the bow. The thread of that knob comes right through the sticker on the top if you tighten too much. And once that stickers is blow through it does not go back to being good. I took my knob off and just screw it in with the bare bolt.
Bottom line is this, I feel I have the same amount of features in this sight as some $100 more expensive sights. I have added two more bows to my line-up and will keep this sight in the rotation. The only thing I would have done differently is get the 9" rail to give me more options as a developing archer. The 6" rail is OK, but I am going to upgrade the rail to a 9". I have also ordered the newest Suer-Loc ONE sight for my other bow. That is how much I like Sur- Loc.
