FOLLOW-UP: Less than a dollar's worth of thin rubber washers CURES ALL VIBRATION PROBLEMS :-) ... Review by Mark Vogt

Greetings all,
Just a follow-up on a VERY quick & easy fix for what is already a great value bow sight!

DRIVE down to the local Ace Hardware Store and BUY...
2 small thin rubber washers to go between the sight mount and the riser...
1 smaller thin rubber to go between the bottom aperture mount and the already-existing nylon washer...
1 large (but still thin) rubber washer you'll use to make a T-shaped cutout to fit the gap between the front aperture set screw and the surface it pushes against...

INSTALL the 2 small washers between the sight mount & the riser. Once snugged-down (do NOT ever tighten so much you feel the aluminum threads deform!!), your sight will still be plenty "rigid" to be accurate, and you will already be damping out over 90% of all the vibration entering the bow sight :-) ...

INSTALL the 1 smaller thin rubber to go between the bottom aperture mount and the already-existing nylon washer; this will let you snug up the mount, and it will never get enough vibration entering it to back it out :-) ...

SLIP the small (fat body, narrow top part of the "T") T-rubber cutout between the gap between the front aperture set screw and the surface it pushes against; SNUG down the set screw and your aperture will NEVER again start to rotate itself out...

This entire modification takes less than 2 minutes for the rubber washers, and about 5 min to fashion a fat-T from a larger rubber washer (or maybe a piece of ice cream pail?)...

BEFORE: I was getting vibration-induced loosening of the front 2 set screws even after 4-5 shots (not even a complete "end"), and loosening of the entire sight mount after 50-60 shots...

AFTER: I've shot 200+ arrows through it just today, and ZERO loosening of ANY portion of the sight, yet the entire system still is perfectly RIGID and ACCURATE...

Hope this helps make other archers turn to this great-value sight !

LOVE this sight ! Review by Mark Vogt

I'm a 53 yr old life-long bow hunter (50# recurve, barebow) exploring adding olympic-style field target archery to the mix. My challenge was to find an affordable sight which could take my 38#, 68" Samick/Hoyt target bow allllll the way out to 90m targets without interfering with the arrow, or having to reverse the sight (positioning the entire sighting mechanism BEHIND the riser instead of out in front of it)...

I first purchased the $49.99 Fivics "Scorpion": stripped threads (right out of the package), mis-labeled sight labels (imagine seeing this sequence on your scale: "9.0....12.5...9.5" :-( )... what a disappointment, and the wormgear-based vertical adjustment actually prevents you from getting to the entire bottom 1 1/4" of the scale!...

This is X-Spot Recurve sight was my last attempt before giving up entirely...
... and WHAT A TURNAROUND !

I just got back from the local archery range (Blackwell Forest Preserve, Wheaton, IL), and shot around 150 arrows through this sight... WOW!

I had JUST enough range that I'm shooting beginner-level target arrows (29", 80gr heads, 2" shield-cut fletchings, 1000 spine, narrow shafts) all the way out to 90m, and landing just a little high!

SUCCESS - for under $100 I've found a ROCK-SOLID, precision-quality sight that is likely the LAST sight I'll need for a very long time!...

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -you won't be disappointed !...

Works Great, BUT ... Review by Huckleberg

I really liked everything about this sight until the mounting block cracked/failed for no explicable reason after only six weeks of appropriate use with no drops or bangs to cause the crack. Spare parts are not available. LAS, in typical form, took care of me of course but I think I am going to go ahead and upgrade.

PRO - very easy, positive adjustments; seemed really well made except for the problem noted above

CON - heavy; mounting block failed as noted above; absolutely no documentation or instructions available either in the package or online

My mount failure is hopefully a fluke because I was happy about the sight until that happened.

Great And Durable Review by Katniss

Yes this sight is great versatility wise, the micro clicks are perfect and I haven't had any problems with any bolts or screws coming undone. Ive had mine for about a year now on a Cartel Fantom; It will be going straight on to a Hoyt Nexus in a few weeks. I use a fiber optic sight pin in it and it is perfect! Not to mention the fact that wherever you go people come up to you and ask 'How much did THAT set you back?' to see their reaction to the price is amusing to say the least.
I will use this sight for many more years to come.

Bang for your buck Review by Buzz

I am glad I got this sight. It has all the features of a high end sight and it is pretty durable too. The aperture on it is OK but the red dot in is takes up too much space for my liking. It is not a sure-loc but at 1/3 the price It's a good buy.

Not bad for the price. Review by Geoside

I have had my X-spot for about 4 months now. The peep part of the sight does make a noise and you better lock- tight all nuts and bolts on it. I have managed to get rid of the vibration noise with a bit of Teflon tape on the peep sight shaft. I also went out to the local hardware store and bought some extra lock screws (which are metric). I have had fun with this sight and it really has not given me any problems. It works and has improved my grouping. I have A Win Win riser and stabilizer also. If you need to have a sight now and that money is burning a hole in your pocket then yes get this sight. I recommend it for a nice mid range beginner sight.
It also is known as the Decut-120 sight.

Strong build, solid adjustments and micro clicks makes this probably the best sub $100 sight on LAS
